Older Eyes Need Love, Too!

The Lazy Wench continues to stitch and time marches on. While she's not going to divulge any actual numbers, once she reached a certain age The Lazy Wench marched up to an opthamologist and got her vision checked. At some point, everyone should see an opthamologist, not just an optometrist, to find out if there are any nasty surprises lurking in your eyes. The bad news for The Lazy Wench was the answer, "Yes, two of them." The good news is that the first was caught early and can be treated and the second one means a tricky prescription for reading glasses.

The new glasses were a revelation to The Lazy Wench. She put them on and tried to thread a needle. The first thing that she noticed when she held the needle up to look for the eye was that it was actually round! Silly Wench, of course needles are round. But she hadn't been able to see that for years. The Lazy Wench knows all the tricks for threading needles, she can thread on in the dark, if pressed. But, because she wasn't walking into walls and hadn't driven her truck off a cliff, she thought she had good enough vision for needlework. It turns out she was wrong. She'd been fighting with the Historical Headache and making slow progress. It just wasn't fun any more. It turns out, she couldn't see it any more. With her new glasses, The Lazy Wench dove right back into her project and enjoyed it again.
