It's not Just in Closets

Having just returned from a two week shopping expedition only to go on-line and order even more stuff, this Lazy Wench has been thinking about stash recently. There certainly seems to be a lot of it, doesn't there? After such a good Stash Enhancement eXperience (good S.E.X.) this Wench lingered over putting things away. Her stitching room has custom closet space but there's stitching stuff all over the house. The Lazy Wench uses her grandmother's sewing cabinet to hold stash in the living room. The reference books are on the bookcase in the family room. Floor stands and lap stands live near any comfy chair. A picture should be forming.

This Wench is thinking more and more about what she wants to buy these days. The majority of her recent purchases have been either reference books or large equipment like frames and stands. When she was first starting out as a Wench, she purchased almost any and every new gadget, fiber or interesting chart she saw. Encouraged by other Wenches eager to show off new acquisitions, she dashed right out and got the latest and greatest. Within a short time, she found that not only did she have more projects than she could finish in a lifetime, she had stash she didn't like!

Several years ago, this Lazy Wench went through her stash and found charts she no longer wanted because her taste had changed. The Lazy Wench got rid of many that once looked darling and even got rid of the associated fabrics she'd bought to stitch them on. There are several places where a Wench can donate stitching stash for those that need it. This Lazy Wench took advantage of them. She also took a good long look at projects that she liked, but wasn't going to finish or perhaps even start. Those went away as well. Even the odd tool or gadget found a new home if it didn't work for this Lazy Wench. Did the Wench feel guilty? Not a bit of it. Hoarding things you don't like and aren't going to use is not a Good Thing when there are people who want and will use them.

More recently, inspired by The Senior Wench's brush with ill health (she's much better, thanks for asking) this Lazy Wench went through her stash again. There wasn't as much to get rid of this time, but a few things went away. During this shopping expedition, several 'someday' items were added to the stash. So look around the house and inspect this Lazy Wench's stash. What you'll find is only what this Lazy Wench really wants to own.
